Martin D j u r a č k a was born in 1946 in Bratislava. He comes form the family of Anton Djuračka, the leading Slovak painter and graphic artist. Painting as such was an integral part of his life and after the 1960s, he works almost exclusively as a full-time artist. Landscape dominates in his works, however there is also an occasional still-life or a portrait. He paints and works predominantly in plein air. Natural beauty of the landscape, and the peculiar character of Slovak hamlets and villages as well as urban sceneries are an everlasting inspiration for him. Works of art by Martin Djuračka are in collection deposits of multiple Slovak galleries as well as other private collections in Slovakia. At present, he lives and works in Bratislava.
