R u b o v i c s Márk was born in 1867 in Budapest a died in 1947 also in Budapest. As a painter, he started studying at the University of Applied Arts in Budapest. His pedagogues included painting masters such as Bertalan Székely and Károly Lotz. Then Rubovics continued studying in Vienna, Munich and Paris. Later, he worked as a teacher at the painting school of Sándor Biháry in Budapest. Rubovics played an instrumental role in organising the exhibitions in the National Saloon (Nemzeti Salon in Hungarian). He participated in numerous collective exhibitions of the Balaton art colony in 1912, 1921 and 1929.
